Swim flippers, also known as swimfins are used in a variety of water sports such as snorkeling and underwater diving. Flippers help the swimmer move through the water more efficiently, adding thrust to each kick. Early inventors such as Leonardo de Vinci and Benjamin Franklin had a hand in inventing the modern-day swim flippers.
