The SAS6/iR integrated SAS controller from Dell provides integrated RAID capabilities. The card supports both SAS and Serial ATA drives. Featuring two internal connectors with 4 ports each, the card features an impressive 8 ports for connecting drives to. The SAS6/iR features PCIe connectivity and requires a x8 slot for connectivity. The card also offers up to 3 GBps of maximum burst speed per port. It supports S.M.A.R.T. physical drives as well as up to 10 physical drives.
